The Ryder-Cheshire Ivanhoe Home relies heavily on the assistance of a large number of volunteers, service clubs, churches, support groups and individual donors. We are deeply grateful to all these groups and individuals whose generosity and encouragement allows the Ivanhoe Home to continue in its mission of the relief of suffering.
A large number of people volunteer on a regular or occasional basis at the Ivanhoe Home in a range of roles including –
reception, clerical and administrative duties, maintenance, fund raising, supporting residents with tasks such as shopping, creating recycled cards and other items for sale on our ‘trading table’, caring for pot plants, organising library resources, assisting at market stalls and garage sales, organising functions such as barbeques, monthly coffee mornings, film nights, afternoon teas and musical evenings.
A special group of volunteers are people who come and spend a weekend, a few days or a week or two in the role of relief resident carers. These people have often been residents at the Ivanhoe Home and are motivated to return as volunteers.
We are always looking for more volunteers, so please contact us should you considering donating your time to our cause.
Groups such as Rotary clubs and church groups provide wonderful support in terms of financial support and donations of much needed goods such as TVs and white goods. A number of past residents have gone on to host fund raising events and activities in their home communities and several church groups support our monthly coffee mornings by providing the catering.
To become a volunteer, supporter or donor, please contact us on telephone (03) 9254 2400.

Donation and Bequests
The Ryder-Cheshire Victorian Homes Foundation which runs the Ivanhoe Home is a fully registered not-for-profit organisation and donations of $2 and over made to the Ivanhoe Home are tax deductible. A bequest left as part of a will is another way that people may choose to support the Ivanhoe Home. As there are no paid fund raisers and collectors and a totally voluntary committee, you can be assured that your donations and bequests will be used fully for the purpose of maintaining the vital work of the Ivanhoe Home.
Donations can be made payable to the Ryder-Cheshire Victorian Homes Foundation Inc. and posted to our address at 10 -14 Donaldson Street Ivanhoe VIC 3079. Please include your contact details so that we can send you a receipt.
